Email [email protected] from the Apple ID or device you use with the app. Include what you were doing (add item, scan, restore, share) and roughly which iOS version. We do not have an in-app chat or a status page — there is no backend of ours to go down.

ShelfLife Crisis is a one-time App Store purchase ($6.99), not a subscription. On a new iPhone, install the app with the same Apple ID and use Apple’s Restore Purchases control (in the app when it ships, or via Settings → your name → Media & Purchases). Apple handles the receipt. We cannot “reset” a license from this website because we never see your card.

There is no ShelfLife Crisis account. If you turn on household sync, the pantry and shopping list use Apple iCloud / CloudKit. You invite people with Apple’s share sheet or Family sharing — the same kind of flow as other Apple-shared data. Everyone needs to be signed into iCloud on their device. If sync is off, each phone keeps its own local list. We cannot reset an iCloud share from here; manage members in iOS / iCloud settings.

Inventory and shopping lists work offline. Product names from a barcode need a network call to Open Food Facts the first time. After a successful lookup we cache that UPC on the phone. Unknown codes, polite rate limits (we cap how often the app may ask), or a 503 from their API all mean: save the barcode and type the name. Live camera scan needs camera permission; otherwise use scan-from-photo or type the digits.

On the device, in the app’s local database. Optional iCloud sync is Apple’s copy, not ours. Use JSON export/import in the app as the escape hatch if you want a file you control. Details are in the privacy policy.

No. 1.0 is iPhone, paid once on the App Store. This site is marketing and policy — not a logged-in pantry. The older browser prototype in our repo is not the Store binary.
